(Spencer)– A traffic stop early Sunday resulted in the arrests of three people on alcohol and interference with official acts charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it all started around 2:30 a.m. when a deputy noticed some suspicious activity during a traffic stop. Upon investigating, it was determined the driver, 22-year-old Robert Tielbur of Spencer, had allegedly been drinking. He was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated…second offense…following field sobriety tests.
During a consent search of the vehicle, deputies found an open bottle of UV blue vodka along with another container with UV blue and Mountain Dew in it. A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Jennifer Lange of Spencer, denied the containers were hers, claiming they belonged to someone else who had been arrested earlier in the night at a Storm Lake bar. Another passenger, 18-year-old Megan Moore of Milford, made a similar claim.
Following interviews and a further investigation, Lange was charged with open container as a passenger and interference with official acts…both simple misdemeanors. Moore was charged with interference with official acts…a simple misdemeanor.
