(Sibley)– A Sibley woman was injured Saturday when a car she was driving went into a field and became submerged in a creek.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 80-year-old Geneva Reed of Sibley was driving a 1996 Buick Park Avenue northbound on Northwest Boulevard approaching the intersection of 230th Street at Ashton when she attempted to stop for a stop sign and lost control. The vehicle went through a field and became submerged in Otter Creek.
Reed was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital to be checked over for possible injuries.
She was cited for failure to maintain control.
A 1996 Buick Park Avenue she was driving was totaled.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ashton Fire Department, Ashton ambulance and Sibley ambulance.
The crash took place around 8:45 a.m.
