(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 410th street in Clay county sent three people to the hospital.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 55-year-old Diana Stone of Sioux Rapids was southbound on Highway 71 when she went off the onto the west shoulder of the road. She then tried to correct the vehicle and lost control on the snow-covered raod. The vehicle slid sideways into the northbound lane of the traffic, colliding with a vehicle driven by 71-year-old Victor Drenth of Sioux Rapids.
Stone had to be extricated from her vehicle as she was pinned by the steering wheel.
Stone was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
Drenth and a passenger in his vehicle, Shirley Drenth of Sioux Rapids, were taken to Spencer Hospital by ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries.
A 2000 Plymouth Neon driven by Drenth and a 1993 Chrysler Lebaron driven by Stone were both totaled.
Authorities say charges are pending.
