(Spencer)– A stand-off in Spencer early Christmas Eve involving a man armed with a knife who was in a house with a one-year-old child ended with police kicking in the door of the residence and tasing the man, identified as 19-year-old Terrell Alfaro of Spencer.
Spencer police were called to the 2100 block of 10th Avenue East in Spencer shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday after getting a report from a female caller of her daughter being held at that location.
The child wasn’t injured.
Alfaro was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of domestic abuse, interference with official acts, child endangerment, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
In addition to the knife, officers also seized a pair of scissors.
Police say they knocked down the door after Alfaro refused orders to open the door.
