(Spirit Lake)– We aren’t even half-way into winter, but cities and counties are already feeling the pinch on their snow removal budgets.
Officials in some cases say they used nearly half their budgets cleaning up from last week’s storm alone. They say any more snowfalls like that will be a budget-buster.
Dickinson County Engineer Dan Eckert says if snow removal expenses come in over budget, he’ll be forced to defer some maintenance projects scheduled for the upcoming construction season.
