(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake and Superior firefighters spent part of New Year’s Day battling another house fire.
Firefighters were called back to 1131 280th Avenue where a house was heavily damaged by fire this past Sunday night.
Spirit Lake Fire Chief David Kollasch says they were called back to that scene around 3:30 p.m. Friday and once again found the structure engulfed.
He says firefighters battled the blaze several hours, using about 10-thousand gallons of water.
This time, Kollasch says the roof of the structure is gone.
An investigation into a possible cause of the original fire by the State Fire Marshal’s Office didn’t yield anything because of concern of structural integrity. However, Kollasch tells KUOO news Deputy State Fire Marshal David Schipper will be back on the scene this coming Tuesday.
Spirit Lake and Superior firefighters were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, county road crews, Dickinson County Emergency Management, and Sam Wedeking Construction.
No injuries were reported.
