(Arnolds Park)– Cheerleaders have been announced for the 30th annual Winter Games coming up January 29th through the 31st.
They include Dan Delperdang, a past chairman of the Winter Games; Brett Hetland, who’s been instrumental with youth hockey and involved in the winter games for years; Jeff Knapp, who serves on the chamber board and is an Iowa Navy Commodore and member of the Rotary club; Di Lorenzen, a volunteer with the Spirit Lake schools and active in activities for the American Cancer Society; Joe Meyer who has served as Chairman of the Winter Games softball since its inception and an event that will be brand new with this year’s games–the bean bag toss.
Other cheerleaders for the upcoming 30th annual University of Okoboji Winter Games include Bob Miller…Superintendent of the Okoboji School District and a highly active community leader who also serves as an Iowa Navy Commodore and a chamber board member; Stacy Rosemore, Director of Okoboji Tourism, an Iowa Navy Commodore and Kiwanian; and Jane Shuttleworth, an environmental champion of the Iowa Great Lakes and co-founder of the Winter Games People Project and co-founder of the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program.
The cheerleaders were voted on by the Winter Games Events Committee at their meeting this past Friday.
