(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges in connection with a snowmobile crash east of Spirit Lake that took place back on December 16th of last year.
The involved parties were unknown at the time.
Based on an investigation utilizing assistance from the public, deputies determined two snowmobiles were westbound in the Highway 9 & 71 right-of-way east of Spirit Lake. Authorities say the lead snowmobile, a 1998 SkiDoo was being operated by 28-year-old Travis Miner of Emmetsburg. The say a passenger on that sled, 31-year-old Ashley Reynolds, fell off and was run of by the other snowmobile, operated by 30-year-old Nicholas Glover of Milford.
A passerby drove Reynolds to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake where she was flown to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls with incapacitating injuries.
Based on the findings of their investigation, authorities say Miner was charged with reckless driving, failure to report an accident and driving while barred.
Glover was charged with failure to report an accident and driving while barred.
