(Spirit Lake)– A Terril man faces charges after allegedly failing to pay for a taxi ride.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says it’s filed a charge of theft in the fifth degree against 23-year-old Michael Behrends, Jr. of Terril as a result of the January 1st incident.
Authorities say Behrends was given a ride to Terril by a taxi company. They say upon arriving at his destination, Behrends got out of the taxi and ran away without paying.
Officials with a local taxi company say getting out of a cab and running away without paying is a growing problem and that they’ll press charges against anyone who does it.
