Clay County Sex Offender Arrested For Allegedly Not Complying With Sex Offender Registry Laws

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A convicted Clay county sex offender is back behind bars after being arrested earlier in the week for allegedly failing to comply with the state’s sex offender registry law.

46-year-old Dean Bond of Spencer was arrested on charges of failure to comply as a sex offender by not completing his verification of relevant information process…a class “D” felony; and for failure to comply as a sex offender in reference to knowingly providing false information.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the charges stem from Bond failing to get his photo taken and for not providing his cell phone to authorities.

Bond was booked into the Clay county jail on a five thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
