Spirit Lake Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man faces drug charges after what police say was a routine traffic stop Thursday evening.

Police say they pulled over a vehicle driven by 29-year-old David Moore of Spirit Lake around 7:22 p.m.

An ensuing investigation and search of the vehicle by the Spirit Lake Police Department’s K9 Unit turned up a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana and some drug paraphernalia.

Moore was placed under arrest and was booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…third offense…an aggravated misdemeanor; failure to obey a stop sign and operation without insurance…both simple misdemeanors.
