(Windom, Mn.)– Windom and eight nearby communities are Minnesota’s first big winners in the competition for 7.2 billion dollars in federal stimulus funds for broadband internet service.
Windom will receive 12.7 million dollars in loans and grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The money will extend Windom’s existing city-owned voice, video and broadband internet network to nearby Jackson, Lakefield, Round Lake, Bingham Lake, Brester, Wilder, Heron Lake and Okabena.
