(Spirit Lake)– A collision this (Thursday) afternoon on the east side of Spirit Lake on Highways 9 & 71 involving a car and a semi sent both drivers to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 37-year-old Edward Feather, Jr. of Milford was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2001 Peterbilt semi driven by 23-year-old Jacob Robak of Rice, Minnesota.
Both Feather and Robak were taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries or condition.
Eight thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the car driven by Feather; the semi sustained an estimated seven thousand dollars in damage.
Feather was cited for driving left of center and no insurance.
The collision took place shortly before 2:30 p.m. in front of Bob’s Tow and Repair.
