DNR Lifts Drinking Water Advisory For Everly

November 22, 2014

(Everly)– The Iowa Department of Natural Resources announced this (Monday) afternoon a drinking water advisory previously in effect for Everly has been lifted.

It had been in place since February 24th when tests showed unsafe levels of nitrates in the city’s water supply.

Officials say recent tests show the levels have dropped and that the water is once again safe for everyone…including infants under the age of six months.

Officials say it appears a problem with a nitrate removal system in the city’s water treatment plant was responsible for the abnormally high levels.
