Search Lands Spencer Man In Jail On Drug Charges

(Spencer)– A search of a residence in Spencer has landed a man in jail on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies assisted probation officers with the execution of a probation/parole search at a residence at 919 East Seventh Street in Spencer on Tuesday. Authorities say the search turned up what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia, marijuana and methamphetamine.

Todd Daugherty of Spencer was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance–marijuana; and possession of a controlled substance–methamphetamine.

Daugherty was booked into the Clay county jail on a five thousand dollar bond.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department. Both agencies are members of the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force.
