SL Council Retains Firm To Study City Hall Options

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council Tuesday authorized city staff to retain the services of a Minnesota firm to study options regarding a city hall.

The firm Short Elliott Henrichsen was awarded the study at a cost of 19-thousand dollars. That’s below the 25-thousand that was budgeted.

Public Works Director Dwight Dohlman told the council the firm will study and evaluate three options and come back with a recommendation. He says incoporating the Police Department into the facility will be among the options explored.

Once the council agrees to one of the recommended options, Dohlman says the firm will then draw up schematics, floor plans, estimates of costs and rendered drawings that could be used for promotional purposes.

Dohlman told the council they reserve the right to back out of any recommended option.
