(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday approved a new one-year contract with Dan Eckert as County Engineer.
Eckert was requesting a 3.5 percent salary increase, but that was denied.
In voting to approve the new one year agreement with no increase in pay, supervisor Mardi Allen and supervisor Chairman David Gottsche said it wouldn’t be fair to grant a pay raise to the County Engineer when no pay increases were being allowed for any other department heads.
The vote to approve the contract was three-to-two.
