(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision this (Tuesday) morning at the intersection of 15th Street and Peoria Avenue in Spirit Lake sent two people to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 53-year-old Theresa Corcoran of Spirit Lake was northbound on Peoria Avenue and 58-year-old Barbara Elser of Lake Park was westbound on 15th Street when the two collided in the intersection.
Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with non-incapacitating injuries.
15-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2006 BMW SUV driven by Corcoran; a 2005 Ford Explorer Elser was driving sustained an estimated 10-thousand dollars in damage.
Corcoran was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The collision took place around 10:40 a.m.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Spirit Lake First Responders and Fire Department and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
