(Spencer)– A check of a park in Clay county last Friday resulted in charges against several people.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy on routine patrol was checking Kindlespire Park when he saw a subject take off and witnessed suspicious activity by others.
Upon investigating the deputy discovered four teens sitting at a picnic table and observed beer cans and a strong smell of alcohol.
19-year-old Garrett Reed of Albert City was then arrested and two juvenile males from Webb and Laurens were tested and taken into custody for underage alcohol possession.
Upon further investigation, the deputy found three other teens hiding in some trees. They eventually came out and were tested. A 16-year-old juvenile female and a 17-year-old male juvenile…both from Sioux Rapids…were taken into custody for underage possession of alcohol. 18-year-old Kirstyn Jones and 19-year-old Samantha Hall of Storm Lake were cited into court for underage alcohol possession and were released.
Reed was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of underage alcohol possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The 17-year-old juvenile from Webb was cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession and was released to his father; the 17-year-old juvenile male from Laurens was cited into court for underage possession of tobacco…second offense; and underage possession of alcohol. He was released to his mother.
The 17-year-old male from Sioux Rapids was cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession and was released to his mother; the 16-year-old juvenile female from Sioux Rapids was cited into court for underage tobacco possession and was cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession and was released to the custody of the 17-year-old male’s mother.
