(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake landmark is about to come down.
The city council Tuesday awarded a contract to dismantle the old water tower near the high school.
Iseler Demolition of Romeo, Michigan will do the work for $8,470. The bid came in below what was budgeted for the project.
Company officials say it will take just a day to bring the tower down.
The project is slated for completion by August 27th.
Larger, newer water towers near the Senior Citizens Center and in the Southern Hills area made the old smaller tower obsolete.
