(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported Wednesday evening in a collision involving a sport utility vehicle and a truck in Clay county.
The Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Keri Peterson of Hartley was driving a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer eastbound when she pulled away from a stop sign at the intersection of 180th Avenue and 340th Street. Authorities say a southbound 2006 Ford Super Duty truck owned by Concrete Foundations and driven by 53-year-old Calvin Steffen of Decorah then collided with the driver’s side of Peterson’s vehicle, causing it to go into the ditch where it rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels.
Peterson was taken to Spencer Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries; no injuries were reported to Steffen who was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the truck; the S-U-V was totaled.
The collision took place shortly after 6:00 p.m.
