Investigation Leads To Charges Against Alta Man

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– An investigation by Clay county authorities into a report of a vehicle being driven by a man who’s license was under suspension resulted in the arrest of an Alta man.

Clay county authorities say they received the report around 1:00 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle was located a short time later near the Goodwill Store in Spencer.

A consent search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia.

The driver, identified as 48-year-old Richard Thomas of Alta, was arrested and taken to the Clay county jail where he was charged with driving while suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.
