(Spencer)– A teen caught in a lie about a pack of cigarettes has been charged with interference with official acts.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the charge was filed against 19-year-old William Kukla. Deputies say it stems from a traffic stop back on August 14th in which a pack of cigarettes was found under the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Kukla stated they were his and had already stated that a different brand that was seen in the vehicle was his.
Upon further investigation, deputies determined Kukla had been lying in order to keep a 16-year-old friend out of trouble.
