Animal Shootings Continue In Dickinson County

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Someone is continuing to shoot at animals in rural Dickinson county.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report around 1:00 p.m. Saturday from a woman east of Milford who reported her dog had been shot.

The owner stated she found the female German Shepherd mix dog in her yard at 2522 235th Street around 11:00 a.m. that morning. The dog was taken to a local veterinarian where it was euthanized.

It’s believed the dog was shot between 7:00 p.m. Friday and 11:00 a.m. Saturday and that a small caliber firearm was used.

While authorities believe that’s the same type of weapon that was used to shoot a horse and cat August 2nd east of Arnolds Park, it isn’t known if the incidents are related.

Anyone with information should contact the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office at 336-2793 or Dickinson County Crimestoppers at 336-2345. A 200-dollar reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
