Arrest Made After Theft in High School Press Box

Spirit Lake authorities believe they have found the man responsible for stealing electronic equipment out of the football field press box at Spirit Lake High School. The police were notified Thursday morning that approximately $500 worth of equipment was missing from the new facility. The investigation led to the arrest of 22-year of Reid Chaplin following a search of his 24th Street property. Police also found substances that are believed to be marijuana and methamphetime, as well as several pieces of drug paraphernalia. Chaplain faces charges of third degree burglary, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
