Pursuit Results In Arrest Of Northern Iowa Man

(Estherville)– A pursuit back on September 2nd in Estherville has resulted in charges against a northern Iowa man.

Estherville police say an officer observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit around 1:15 a.m. that morning. The officer tried unsuccessfully to stop the vehicle, however they were eventually able to block it in a parking lot.

The driver, identified as 51-year-old Jeffrey Gross of Leland, Iowa, was arrested without incident.

Upon further investigation by the Estherville Police Department and the Bremer County Iowa Sheriff’s Office it was discovered the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the week from Readlyn, Iowa.

Gross was charged with eluding, operation without the owner’s consent, driving while barred and excessive speed.

Gross was booked into the Emmet county jail on a $14,950 cash or surety bond.

Estherville police were assisted in their investigation by the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office.
