Tip Results In Arrest Of Spencer Man On Drug Charge

(Spencer)– A tip provided to authorities has resulted in the arrest of a Spencer man on a drug charge.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it received word of a mn who was selling his prescription medication for cash. Based on the information, authorities obtained a search warrant that was executed on a residence in a trailer court on West 18th Street in Spencer. It resulted in deputies seizing numerous amounts of prescription drugs and two thousand dollars in cash.

Authorities say some of the drugs dated back to 2007.

Authorities say it appears the man had been hoarding and selling quantities of scheduled two typ medication tablets for cash.

The suspect, identified as 60-year-old Larry Gabbard of Spencer, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a scheduled two violation…a class “C” felony. Gabbard was arrested Thursday and booked into the Clay county jail.
