(Spirit Lake)– A special honor for a local funeral home director.
Chad Schuchert was elected District seven Governor of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association at its annual meeting last month in Okoboji.
The district includes Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth and Pocahontas counties.
Schuchert will serve a three-year term.
He and his wife Jennifer have owned Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake since October of 1999.
The Iowa Funeral Directors Association represents 675 Iowa licensed funeral directors and 425 funeral home establishments throughout the state. It provides continuing education, legislative representation and service to Iowa communities.
