(Estherville)– Some special events are being planned to assist local soldiers who have been deployed abroad and their families.
The events are being organized through a committee that’s been formed in Estherville.
Planned activities include a Halloween party for children of guardsmen; Christmas Care packages to be sent to soldiers in November; a children’s Christmas party in December; and a family fun event and dinner in January.
Donations of money, supplies and manpower are requested. Area employees, churches, club members, civic organizations and families and individuals are being urged to help out. Donations can be dropped off at the Estherville Chamber of Commerce. Checks should be mailed to the Estherville Chamber of Commerce with the word “troops” written in the memo line.
Fundraising continues through November 11th.
