(Worthington, Mn.)– The Mayor of Ocheyedan may be facing some legal challenges.
The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle last Friday evening that was being driven by 52-year-old Arlyn Pedley. The deputy’s report says Pedley was traveling 65 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.
In addition, a subsequent investigation was conducted and a breathalyzer test was administered when the deputy smelled alcohol on Pedley’s breath and noticed that his eyes were watery. According to the report, Pedley’s blood alcohol level in the field test measured .09 percent.
Pedley admitted that he had consumed a few mixed drinks earlier in the evening, but that he didn’t think it was enough to affect his ability to drive.
A urine sample was taken and has been sent to the state crime lab for analysis. Authorities say the test results will have a bearing on any operating while intoxicated charge being filed in the case.
