(Spencer)– A convicted sex offender from Primghar has been arrested by authorities in Clay county for allegedly not complying with terms of the state’s sex offender registry law.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Brandon Laird was arrested Thursday at a residence in Spencer on a charge of failure to comply as a sex offender by not completing “his in person relevant information verification at the Sheriff’s Office in September.”
Failure to comply as a sex offender is an aggravated misdemeanor.
Laird was later released to the custody of the Pride Group pending a future court appearance.
