(Emmetsburg)– Two men wanted in connection with the theft of a van back in July of this year in Palo Alto county have been arrested on warrants.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says it stems from shortly after 6:00 a.m. July 18th when a Graettinger couple reported their 1998 Ford Windstar van had been stolen from their residence. It was found abandoned a short time later just west of Ruthven on Highway 18.
A joint investigation involving the Clay and Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Offices resulted in charges being filed and warrants issued for 18-year-old Levi Shuck of Rembrandt and 20-year-old Alex Arndt of Dickens.
Arndt was arrested August 15th and was released after posting a 10-thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
A detainer was placed on Shuck who was already in the Buena Vista county jail on similar charges at the time.
On September 22nd Shuck was arrested on the warrant and was transported to the Palo Alto county jail.
Both Arndt and Shuck were charged with second degree theft…a class “D” felony.
