(Emmetsburg)– A Havelock man was injured Tuesday when the brakes went out on a 1974 Chevrolet grain truck he was driving northbound on 450th Avenue at the intersection with 500th Street in Palo Alto county.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says the driver, Melvin Abrahamson of Havelock, proceeded to turn east and went into the north ditch where the truck rolled onto the driver’s side.
Abrahamson sustained minor injuries but apparently didn’t seek immediate treatment.
Damage to the truck was estimated at 10-thousand dollars.
Abrahamson was cited for failure to maintain control.
