(Spirit Lake)– Officials with the Dickinson County Water Quality Commission say they’ve received nine grant applications requesting more than $250,000 in the upcoming round of grants to be awarded. The commission has $200,000 available for grants.
October 1st was the deadline for submitting grant requests for the upcoming round.
The commission looks for a match of three dollars for every dollar it puts toward a water quality project. This year, officials say the total hard cash match is about a million dollars.
The Water Quality Commission, an 18-member board made up of representatives of all cities in Dickinson county and the board of supervisors, are currently reviewing applications and will meet October 21st at which time grants may be awarded.
