Ethanol Byproduct Slickens Hwy 9

November 22, 2014

(Superior)– It wasn’t snow or ice that made Highway nine slippery in the Superior area Monday night.

Authorities say an ethanol byproduct somehow leaked from a truck that was hauling the stuff. The Superior Fire Department was called to the scene around 10:00 p.m. to hose the slime off the highway.

Authorities say a similar spill took place over the weekend on Highway nine in roughly the same area, temporarily shutting down the road while crews hosed it off.

No accidents were reported as a result.
