(Spirit Lake)– Lakes Regional Healthcare’s digital mammography program has successfully passed an inspection by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
The inspection was conducted as part of the department’s Mammography Quality Standards Act.
The inspection included an evaluation of the digital mammography machine’s performance; reviewing all quality control measurements; performing patient outcome audits and reviewing patient follow-up procedures to ensure they are timely and complete.
The inspector also checked all licenses, permits to practice and continuing education units.
The inspections are done annually.
