DNR Seeks Comment On 5MPH No Wake Regulation

(Des Moines)– Officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources are looking for public input on a proposal to change the use of “no-wake zones” with defined speed restrictions of five miles-per-hour in boat motor regulations.

Anyone wanting to make a comment on the proposal has until October 28th to do so. Written comments sould be sent to Susan Stocker, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Wallace State Office Building, 502 East 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa…50319-0034; or by FAX at (515) 281-6794. They may also be e-mailed to susan.stocker@dnr.iowa.gov.

Oral comments may be given by calling the DNR’s Law Enforcement Bureau at (515) 281-0122.

The proposed change will be the topic of a public hearing October 28th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the fifth floor east conference room at the Wallace State Office Building in Des Moines.
