Search Turns Up Pot Growing Operation

(Rock Rapids)—A search Friday of a residence in Rock Rapids resulted in theft and drug charges being filed against a Rock Rapids man.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and officers with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources executed the search warrant at 307 South Marshall Street.

A man who lives at the residence, 28-year-old Adam Anderson, was arrested and charged with theft in the 2nd degree…a class “D” felony; manufacturing marijuana…also a class “D” felony; possession of marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say that while they were looking for evidence in connection with the theft of scrap metal from a salvage yard, that their search uncovered a marijuana growing operation in the home’s basement.
