(West Okoboji)—A minor fire this (Thurs.) resulted in the brief evacuation of an assisted living center in West Okoboji.
Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter tells KUOO news firefighters were called around 9:15 a.m. to Heritage Landings. Upon arriving he says they found some smoke in the lobby. Carpenter says residents of the facility were evacuated to the nearby First Lutheran church. They were allowed to return a short time later.
He says the source of the smoke was traced to a problem with some electrical wiring and an air conditioning unit.
No injuries were reported.
