November 22, 2014

(Estherville)—A joint investigation by the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Estherville Police Department has resulted in the arrest of an Estherville woman.

Police say 57-year-old Deb Acord was arrested Friday on warrants charging her with dependent adult abuse and ongoing criminal conduct.

Acord is accused of taking a large amount of money from an elderly victim between roughly November 2012 and May 2013.

Acord was booked into the Emmet county jail and was later released after posting bond.
