(Spirit Lake)—The Lakes Area Hockey Association has received $20,000 donation to assist in the construction of the Boji Bay indoor ice arena in Spirit Lake. The donation from Liberty National Bank of Okoboji is earmarked for naming rights for the first four locker rooms in the facility, marking the beginning of the third phase of construction on the project.
The organization is also campaigning to sell 1,800 sections of the rink floor at $100 each. They’re also requesting private support of 15 percent of the project to come from the public in Dickinson, Clay and Emmet counties.
