Mammoth Hockey Announcement

The Lakes Area Hockey Association Board of Directors is excited to share that during the November 24th meeting, the Board unanimously voted to rebrand our youth hockey program as the Boji Mammoths, starting with the 2025-2026 season.

This decision is a milestone for our Association and a major step forward in unifying our organization and creating a strong identity between our youth and high school programs. Since our humble beginnings at the outdoor rink in Speier Park, our youth teams have proudly skated as the Boji Blizzard, and while the Blizzard will forever be a cherished part of our history, we look forward to what the future holds in this new chapter of Boji hockey.

This rebrand comes in the face of significant challenges, delays, and issues with obtaining new Blizzard jerseys from our vendor this season which forced many families to delay jersey purchases until next year. These challenges with our vendor prompted us to think long-term about the future of our players, our families and our Association as a whole.

The Mammoth name is already a strong presence at our rink—from the center-ice logo to the continued success of our high school program. Uniting under the Mammoth brand will strengthen our pride, continue to foster connection between all age groups, and provide for a single brand committed to representing the Iowa Great Lakes region.

Please know this decision was made with care and with the future success of Boji hockey in mind. Together, as one Boji Mammoth family, we can continue to grow, thrive, and leave a legacy both on and off the ice.

Thank you for your support and dedication to Boji hockey. The future is bright, and we cannot wait to see our Mammoths—young and old—take the ice for the 2025-2026 season.

Stay tuned for continued updates on this topic—including jersey concepts and more details in the months to come.
