The Jackson Motorplex is hosting the Barb & Dean Wieskus Memorial this Friday, July 28th, during the county fair.
Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Midwest Power Series 360 sprint cars will be in action along with RaceSaver sprint cars. Grandstands open at 5:00 with hot laps at 7:30 and racing to follow.
The season finale is August 17-19th when the World of Outlaws come to town for the 45th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals powered by FENDT. Racesavers are part of Thursday and Friday with Upper Midwest Sprint Series traditional sprint cars on Saturday as well.
The Jackson Racing Hall of Fame Class of 2023 features the late Paul Jerousek, longtime flagman at the track, the late Dan Voigt, who helped build a safety team in the early 90’s, and drivers Troy Schmidtke, multi-time champion in hobby stocks and double-barreled sprint cars, and Randy Winter, a modified driver who supported Jackson for decades. A ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at the American Legion in Jackson with a noon meal followed by the induction.
Fairmont Raceway is hosting Hall of Fame Night on Wednesday, July 26th with vintage cars as well as regular USRA racing.
The track will honor their 2023 class which includes Jerry Lepinski, Gerhard Wollenberg, Richard Koch, Jeff Ignaszewski, Dustin Philipp, and Bill Blomster. Fairmont Raceway also made some recent changes to the rest of their schedule. Friday, August 11th will be the van race on Back to School Night. Friday, July 18th is the Martin County Fair Races. Friday, August 25th is Season Championship Night plus the Tri-State Late Models and vintage cars. Thursday, September 14 is the 4th annual Bacon Town Showdown with all regular USRA classes. Fairmont Raceway says some sponsorship and staffing issues led to the changes and also announced the track will race on Fridays from May until September in 2024.
Worthington Speedway is off with no racing until Saturday, August 5th when it’s time for county fair races in Nobles County. They plan to race every Saturday night in August with Outlaw Mini Mods as well as IMCA divisions and bombers during the month. Season Championship Night is set for August 26th.
