“With only a few more meets before Conference and Districts our focus was on getting some guys a final look in different events, it also was a warm-up for our 3x Drake qualified relays to refine hand-offs. We were extremely excited at how our boys performed today. Stacking a number of relays we greatly improved many of our season best times. Examples: 4×8 (10sec PR), 4×4 (6sec PR), Shuttle Hurdle (half second PR), and our 4×2 & 4×1 both PR’d by a tenth. Running our relays hard allowed us to see others take the varsity position in the individuals and we’re very encouraged by what we saw and learned. Boys have a quick turn around with a meet tomorrow in Emmetsburg. This being a boys only meet will allow us to run a full JV and Varsity line-up in all events. We are also keeping guys competing at Drake back to practice and prep for their events Thur-Sat. of this week. I am excited about how this will let us see others on our deep team rise up to the occasion and fill an open role.”

“That was an incredible meet and a huge effort from 14 girls. Numerous relays featured an athlete from each grade. That tells me our youngsters have bought in and believe, and our older athletes are helping them along the way. It is the coolest thing to see mix and matched parts come away with 120+ points. We can use everything from tonight to fill out an extremely competitive conference line up and it will exciting to see all of it come together. Huge huge huge school record in the Shot from Lauren (BT should be talking about this in his notes too) and nearly as important is the 3rd victory for the throwers 4×100! Congratulations to everyone!” (BT-yes a great night for all girls. A special Congrats to Lauren Travis on Breaking the oldest record on the board. Kathy Kabele held the record of 41-5 since 1974. Tonight Lauren Broke the 50 year old record with a toss of 41-8.5. That toss currently places her 3rd in the nation for all HS girl freshmen.”

The Wolves had a good night at the Okoboji relays against some tremendous competition. Ethan Harper placed 2nd in the high jump and Devin Meyer was 4th in the 400 dash and 400 hurdles. Landon Greve also had a personal best in both the 3200 meters and the 1600 meters. Travis Luitjens had his best shot-put performance of the season by three feet.
