The Boji Mammoth High School Hockey team is hosting the 4th annual Boji Mammoth Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Friday, August 12th at Brooks Golf in Okoboji, Iowa. This 4-person, 9-hole golf tournament has a shotgun start at 3 P.M. with a buffet following for all registered golfers. There will be a few fun games out on the course to make things extra interesting as well as a silent auction table full of sought after, varied items, waiting to go home with you!
Please register by calling Brooks Golf directly, 712-332-5011 or email Brett Hetland, Tournament Director, grassman@brooksgolfclub.com. The 4-person entry fee is $240 and can be mailed to Brett Hetland, PO Box 10, Spirit Lake, IA 51360. Please make checks out to the Lakes Area Hockey Association. Feel free to contact Brett with any questions.
The Boji Mammoths rely on this golf outing as their only fundraiser of the season. All proceeds from this event go towards subsidizing Mammoth hockey operations, uniforms, and player warm-up gear. Team Captain Cale Quiring said, “This fundraiser provides my teammates and I with the opportunity to truly focus on what matters….hockey, growth as individuals and as a team, and improving our facilities and program for the upcoming generations of players”.
This team gives their heartfelt thanks to the Lakes Area businesses. Without your support, we would not be where we are today. “…the team can truly focus on our task at hand, team building, skills development, and representing our community in a positive way, ” said Cale.
The Mammoths currently draw players from Spirit Lake and the surrounding communities. In October of 2021 we began the season in the inaugural Iowa High School Alliance. We concluded our season in February as the State Champions in this new league. We anticipate the 22-23 season to be better yet and look forward to “packing the Cave” at our home rink this fall. Please watch for our home game schedule later this summer.
