Tigers Too Much For Huskies in Big South Title Game

Belle Plaine held off the Jackson County Central boys basketball team to win the Big South Conference championship on Tuesday night.

The Huskies trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half and rallied to within two with five minutes left in regulation but the Tigers outlasted JCC by the 90-83 final score. Ethan Martin dropped a game-high 44 points for Belle Plaine. Weston Rowe led JCC with 31 points.

The loss in the Huskies first title game appearance snapped a 13-game winning streak. JCC begins the Section 3AA Tournament on Friday at home against Pipestone Area with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. on KKOJ.
