As storms made their way through NW Iowa last night, some teams were able to get their games completed after a delay, some were postponed, and some were ended early. In Spirit Lake, lightning caused a 2 hour delay as the Indians gained a district win, taking care of East Sac last night 32-3. Trevor Jensen had a big night for Spirit Lake, catching 9 passes for 155 yards, and also rushing 6 times for 27 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Alec Henrickson went 16 for 30 on the night, with 1 score and 244 yards thru the air. That touchdown went to Austin Folsom, who also returned a 60 yard interception for a touchdown. For East Sac, quarterback Ty Jacobson had a 14 of 27 night for 134 yards. The Spirit Lake defense again was tough against the run, holding the raiders to a negative 12 yards rushing on the night. Spirit Lake improves to 3-0 in the district, 5-1 overall.
