Spirit Lake won their opening round of the class 2A football playoffs in convincing fashion Wednesday night, topping MOC Floyd Valley 55-0. The Indians picked up 572 total yards of offense in the win, led by Alec Henrickson, who went 11-23 thru the air for 223 yards and 3 touchdowns. Austin Folsom caught two of those touchdown passes as well as rushing for another. He ended the game with 106 yards receiving on 4 catches and rushed for another 42. Josh also led the Indians in tackles with 8. That sets up a rematch with Boyden Hull Rock Valley in the second round. BHRV advanced in the playoffs Wednesday night after topping Garner Hayfield Ventura 34-13, and are the only team to beat Spirit Lake in the regular season. That was a 31-8 score back on September 27th. The game will take place Monday night, back on Hafer Field in Spirit Lake.
