For the second time in five days, the Spirit Lake Indians shutout the Dutchmen of MOC-Floyd Valley, this time in the opening round of the playoffs, by a final of 35-0. Spirit Lake moved to 10-0 on the season and will play in the second round of the playoffs Monday night on KUOO.
Josh Hofstra scored on the Indians’ first offensive play, a 75-yard touchdown carry. In the second quarter, Alec Henrickson found Mike Meschede in the endzone for a 16-yard touchdown pass. Henrickson backed that up later in the quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run.
The Indians added two more scores in the third quarter, Josh Hofstra with an 11-yard touchdown carry and Austin Folsom with a 36-yard touchdown catch from Henrickson. Hofstra ended the night with over 200 yards in the game.
By a final of 35-0, the Indians took down the Dutchmen and have advanced to the second round Monday night. Spirit Lake will host East Sac County.
