@ Spirit Lake

The Spirit Lake girls overcame a slow start with hot shooting to get a win over Emmetsburg last night 58-44 in Lakes Conference basketball.  The Indians finished the game 9 of 11 from outside the 3 point arc.  Emma Dau was the leading scorer with 16.  Joie Veldman finished with 15, including a 4 for 4 night on 3 point attempts.  Spirit Lake is now 15-4 with 2 games remaining, on the road this Friday at Spencer, and then wrapping up the season at home against Lemars.

The Spirit Lake boys stopped a 2 game skid with a 54-42 win over Emmetsburg last night.  The Indians are now 12-5 with 4 games remaining on the regular season schedule.  The post season schedule for Class 1A and 2A should be out yet this week.  We won’t see the 3A and 4A pairing until next week.

@ Boyden Hull

The Okoboji girls are now 14-5, and 12-4 in the Siouxland after a 58-51 win over Boyden Hull last night in Hull.  The Pioneers sit in 2nd place in the conference, a game ahead in the loss column over Sibley Ocheyedan.  Just 2 games remain in the regular season for Okoboji, a match up this Friday against top ranked MOC Floyd Valley, then finishing on the road next Tuesday at Sibley.

The Okoboji boys fell to 2-16 after last night’s 67-49 loss to Boyden Hull.  The Pioneers have just 3 to go, Friday’s final home game against MOC Floyd Valley, then a pair of road games next week at Sibley and Sioux Center.

@ Lake Park

Just one game remains for the Harris Lake Park girls after last night’s 58-32 win over Clay Central Everly.  The game was tight early, with the Mustangs leading by one after the first quarter.  However, the Wolves would pull away, and use a strong defensive effort in the second half, holding the Mustangs to just 6 points in the final 2 quarters.  Noreen Morrow had a 21 point night from the floor for HLP.  Clay Central Everly was paced by Blair Montgomery with 12.  The win means the Wolves are now 14-6, matching the most wins in school history in the 5-5 era.  Clay Central Everly falls to 5-13.

The Harris Lake Park boys began last night on a 19-0 run on their way to a 67-23 win over Clay Central Everly.  Jordon Kyle was the leading scorer in the game with 25.  Brady Van Iperen finished with 15.  Dayton Brugman was best for the Mustangs with 11.  Harris Lake Park is now 10-8 with 2 games to go.  They play at Sibley Ocheyedan on Thursday and GT/RA on Friday.  Clay Central Everly is still winless at 0-18.
